Looking ahead on a Project
When we are working on a project how do we use the tools we have to look ahead. We all need to use the schedule to know where we are going and when we are going to get there. With this understood then we need to coordinate the plans with the schedule by reviewing the details to make sure that the plans will work if not then we need to write an RFI. Remember the Architect gets 14 days to answer the RFI so the sooner we put them on the clock the better. Then we need to review the submittals to make sure the contractor has submitted their product for approval. This should be done at least 4 weeks ahead of when the schedule shows a contractors start time. This will help all of us stay as close to the schedule as possible.
